Demi Lovato released Commander in Chief

Demi Lovato released “Commander in Chief” on 14 October 2020 (Wednesday). The track is directed to President Donald Trump and urges all citizens to vote in the upcoming presidential elections.

The song was written by Demi herself, Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels. In “Commander in Chief,” Demi sings about the President’s mishandling of racial injustice, white supremacy, on-going pandemic and dismantling of LGBTQ rights.

“Commander in Chief” received positive reviews from music critics. Demi performed the song live yesterday during Billboard Music Awards.

The song is available for purchasing and streaming on all digital platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Ariana Grande will release a new album on 30 October

Ariana Grande announced on her social media that she would be releasing a new album later this month. This will be the singer’s sixth studio album after her successful “Thank U, Next” released in 2019.

The new album will be called “Positions” and will be promoted by a lead single of the same name. While the album will be released on 30 October (Friday), the single will be available one week earlier (23 October).

The new album will not be, however, her first release this year. At the beginning of the pandemic, Ariana recorded “Rain On Me” (with Lady Gaga) and “Stuck With U” (with Justin Bieber). Both tracks were successful on the Billboard Hot 100.


Jonas Brothers won three Billboard Music Awards

Congratulations are in order for Joe, Nick and Kevin of the Jonas Brothers! During yesterday’s Billboard Music Awards, the band won three awards in the following categories: “Top Duo/Group,” “Top Radio Songs Artist” and “Top Radio Song” (for “Sucker”).

Due to the on-going pandemic, the Jonas Brothers did not attend the ceremony. Instead, their took to their social media to celebrate and share their happiness with fans.

“WHAT?!?! 3 Awards?! This is insane! Thank you so much @bbmas I’m speechless. Love you all,” posted Nick on Instagram.

“Three awards tonight what a year!! Thank you so much everyone. Can’t wait to do it all again,” wrote Kevin.

Netflix released the official trailer for Hillbilly Elegy

Netflix released the official trailer for “Hillbilly Elegy.” The movie stars Glenn Close (as Mawmaw), Haley Bennett (as Lindsay), Amy Adams (as Bev) and Freida Pinto (as Usha). It will debut worldwide on 24 November 2020 on Netflix.

“J.D. Vance, a former Marine from southern Ohio and current Yale Law student, is on the verge of landing his dream job when a family crisis forces him to return to the home he’s tried to forget. J.D. must navigate the complex dynamics of his Appalachian family, including his volatile relationship with his mother Bev, who’s struggling with addiction. Fueled by memories of his grandmother Mamaw, the resilient and whip-smart woman who raised him, J.D. comes to embrace his family’s indelible imprint on his own personal journey,” says the official synopsis.

“Emily in Paris” is a comedy / drama / romance series released on 2 October on Netflix. The first season features 10 episodes and follows Emily Cooper from Chicago as she embarks on a new professional journey. Due to unexpected circumstances, Emily is hired by a French marketing firm and moves to Paris to show them an American perspective on doing business.

The production stars Lily Collins (as Emily Cooper), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (as Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (as Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (as Gabriel), Camille Razat (as Camille) and William Abadie (as Antoine Lambert).

“Emily in Paris” has been one of the popular series on Netflix recently. It has received generally positive reviews, but some critics pointed to the incorrect perception of Parisians and the French. All in all, “Emily in Paris” is a great series for binge-watching during the weekend, and simply having fun and a lot of laugh!
